This is a top notch product that reveals quality digital storytelling at its best!!

Santa's Merry Band
Only a month to Christmas and the Christmas spirit is here!!
Yes, literally.
In fact, the app I've recently worked on called I feel the Christmas sprit is out and available to download!
The app has been commissioned and produced by Mibblio and the illustrations go along with a lovely and very festive song by Indigo Girls (yes, them!).
Mine is just one of the many songs you can find in the app. In fact, there are many more to chose from and have fun with.
What I think it's really unique about Mibblio's apps, is that you can play along while listen to the song... harp, guitar, piano, even hand claps, your choice!
You can also choose to turn off some of the instruments in the actual song or even all of them and just listen to the singing voice... pretty cool, uh?!
Let me tell you, this app is a true musical gem!!
Click here to download it and start the fun.
It's FREE for this first week so hurry up and get it!!!
I must say I had heaps of fun working on this project and even more when I now play with the app... it's addicting!!
Here some of the screenshots... I hope you like it!

The flying turtle
It's a while now that I'm working on this one. Actually this is has been just an excuse to experiment with new techniques.
I'm not 100% satisfied because my initial idea was different. But it has been a good exercise. Also, I want to take the chance to use this illustration as my entry for this week IF theme "Launch"... I guess it suits!

ABC alphabet sneak peek
One of the things I'd like to do is children's illustrations. They are so involving and colorful that attract me like a bee to a flower.
So I decided that I'll start off drawing an animal alphabet for kids...
It's not finished yet, this is just a sneak peak of some of my favourite. I'm planning to add some lettering as well just to make everything more fun!
And the best part of this project is that I'm really enjoying myself doing it! Hurray!!:D

A couple of months ago I did this drawing. Today I colored it. I'm trying to stick to first rule to success...

Have a nice Sunday!

I did a self portrait this morning. Although I don't have a proper website yet, I need a picture of me to put in the About section when I'll have one... hope soon!

Colorful pictures for dark books

Not long ago I did some of these colours/line experiments. They are just two examples but I was thinking to make some more of them. Eventually experimenting something else as well. Basically the idea was to create covers for children's classic book which are quite violent and scary... therefore not very suitable for nowadays children.
Have you ever thought how scary and depressing were kid's stories in the past? Who never had nightmares after watching or reading Pinocchio for instance?? That's why I thought that "colorful pictures for dark books" would have been a fitting title for a nice project.
Any idea for other old fashioned and gloomy kid's stories?

Pet portrait
In the last month, one of the many projects I was working on was a submission for the magazine Uppercase, which is a very cool Canadian magazine about design and art. The call asked for pet portraits submissions.
What I've come out with it's this picture down here.
The one in it is supposed to be my cat, but actually, this cat doesn't look like mine at all (that is black, by the way) but my main idea was to imagine what he could have been like if it would have been humanized.
And I believe he would be a crazy emperor who heads a whole nation, with mania of grandeur and a deviated personality who would lead him to become a pyromaniac.
Therefore it's no accident my cat's name is Nero.
As you can see, the style I choose it's not mine at all. But I'm still learning every day, and so experimenting with a lot of different techniques. And I must say I found very fun this watercolor technique done in Illustrator. If you want to know how to do it check this tutorial.

What I wore today... 8th May.
Unfortunately here in Melbourne winter is coming... therefore I did this quick illustration to cheer myself up.
Hopefully one day I'll be featured in Gemma Correll's blog, What i wore today.
In the meanwhile, I keep drawing. And get dressed too.

Fantasy project
I'm not a fantasy fan. Not even sci-fi... my boyfriend is. Personally I'm more a true story kind of person. But at school they have asked us to produce an image with a fantasy or sci-fi theme to paint in photoshop. So I did and surprisingly the project has been more interesting than I thought...!
Although the final piece has a completely different style from what I usually do, I kinda like it.

Re-colouring...
Probably I've already said I'm trying to working out colors lately. Anyway, I'll said it again. But I'm also going to show some work this time! It is a piece I posted some weeks ago that I wasn't very happy with. So I tried to make it better setting up a bunch of completely different colors and giving it also a surreal touch to make it a bit more fun. And in the end I think it worked...!!
Comments and suggestions are appreciated as usual...:D

IF - Journey
Here it is my last entry for Illustration Friday. Straightaway I thought his week topic - journey - was a good one and a lot of ideas came into my mind. And in the end I choose this one. I also experimented a bit with colors since I'm trying to learn how to use colors properly... and I have to say is much more difficult than I thought. But I'll get there...!

Hidden Images
Some weeks ago it came up at my school someone was looking for an illustrator to do a job.
I was so excited and so positive I could have won that I went to work straight away and in a day and a half (which is probably a long period of time for something like this... but honestly I have no idea) I produced this piece down here. It is supposed to be an "hidden image" for kids where there are objects hidden inside it. There are five of them -a ring, an envelope, mountains, a heart and a pencil. Are you able to find them?
PS= I didn't get the job... but I'm not discouraged. I know next time is going to better!:D

B-day!
Today's my birthday!:D
To celebrate I've gone out of town for the weekend with some friends of mine. We don't do anything than sleeping, watching movies and eating.
What a great b-day!!
This is a little illo to help you imagine me in this moment...
As you can see this is me trying to eat the whole thing... wish me luck!:D

IF - Duet
This is the illustration I did this week for Illustration Friday.
It doesn't even look finished to me, but here it's Thursday night and I really need a shower right now. Moreover tomorrow I'm going to leave for the weekend and I won't have any chance to finish this. But I've work on it the whole week (here and there, in my spare moments... the truth is I'm so damned slow) and I don't want to just leave it there. So here it is.

What I wore today...
It's a while I don't post something here but not because I haven't drawn anything lately but because school is keeping me busy!
Also, I've done practice with the tablet and I've been even reading a book! So many things, so little time.
Anyway, here there is something I did this morning for What I wore today blog.
PS: Comments and suggestions are welcome! In particular, at the moment I'm trying to understand color better. Honestly I think I'm pretty terrible with colors so any advice will be appreciated.
